The Ductile Iron Wafer Check Valve is designed to allow flow in one direction and automatically prevent reverse flow when the flow direction reverses. Unlike traditional swing check valves that require heavy flanged bodies and have slow disc response, the wafer type check valve features one or two spring-assisted discs that close instantly when forward flow stops. The valve body is machined to fit snugly between two pipeline flanges, with through-bolts holding everything in place. The disc(s) are made from lightweight stainless steel or ductile iron with a rubber seal, ensuring zero leakage in the reverse direction. The spring-assisted closure significantly reduces water hammer — a common problem in long pipeline systems — by closing the disc before the reverse flow can build momentum.
Lowest Installation Cost: No flange gaskets or extra nuts needed — the valve itself acts as the gasket.
Spring Options: Stainless steel springs available in different torques for vertical or horizontal lines.
100% Seal Tested: Each valve tested for reverse leakage at 1.1x rated pressure.
Corrosion Protection: Epoxy coated body + stainless steel disc and spring.
Short Lead Time: Standard sizes (DN50-DN600) in stock.
