The Ductile Iron Basket Strainer (also called a Tee Strainer or Bucket Strainer) is designed for applications where a high volume of debris needs to be captured without frequent cleaning. Unlike a Y-strainer which has a small debris pocket, the basket strainer features a large, removable perforated basket that sits inside a wider body chamber. Fluid enters the strainer, passes through the basket from inside to outside (or outside to inside, depending on design), and solids collect inside the basket. When the basket is full, the top cover is removed and the basket is lifted out, emptied, and replaced. The large debris capacity makes basket strainers ideal for pump suction lines where debris is expected — the pump won’t starve if cleaning is delayed.
Self-Cleaning Option: Available with backflush connection for automated cleaning.
Differential Pressure Gauge Ports: Threaded ports to mount gauges showing when cleaning is needed.
Basket Material: SS304 or SS316 with perforations from 1mm to 10mm (or lined with mesh).
Quick-Opening Cover: Bolted or clamp-ring cover — clamp ring opens in seconds.
ASME Code Construction: Available with code stamp upon request.
