The Ductile Iron Single Orifice Air Release Valve (also called a continuous air release valve) is designed to release small volumes of accumulated air from water pipelines that are already in operation. Unlike double orifice valves which also handle large air volumes during filling and draining, the single orifice valve focuses on removing dissolved or entrained air that separates from the water under pressure. This air collects at high points and, if not removed, reduces pipeline flow capacity (a condition called “air binding”). The valve features a single small orifice (typically 2mm to 6mm) controlled by a stainless steel float. When water is present, the float rises and seals the orifice. When air collects, the float drops slightly, opening the orifice to vent the air. The valve cycles automatically without human intervention.
Low Cost: More economical than double orifice valves for applications that don’t require high-volume venting.
Corrosion Proof: All internal wetted parts are stainless steel or EPDM rubber.
Easy Installation: Compact size mounts directly to a threaded fitting at pipeline high points.
Silent Operation: Small orifice prevents loud air blasts.
Immediate Stock: DN15 – DN50 thread sizes available for same-day shipment.
