The Lug Type Butterfly Valve is distinguished by its body design: instead of a smooth wafer profile, the body has protruding “lugs” with threaded holes. Bolts pass through the mating pipe flanges and screw directly into the lugs. This allows the valve to be used for “dead-end service” — meaning the downstream piping can be removed while the upstream side remains under full line pressure, without requiring an additional shut-off valve. The valve retains all the advantages of butterfly valves (quarter-turn, compact, cost-effective) but adds this critical feature for maintenance and isolation. The seat is fully bonded to the body, and the disc is precision machined for optimal sealing torque.
Dead-End Rated: Up to 100% of rated pressure with downstream flange removed.
Face to Face per ISO 5752: Short pattern (Series 20) for interchangeability.
Tested per API 598: Rigorous seat and shell testing.
Material Options: Disc available in stainless steel, duplex, or monel for aggressive media.
Fire Safe Option: Available with metal seat and graphite packing for fire-safe design.
