The Forged Steel Flanged Gate Valve is manufactured from forged carbon steel (ASTM A105 or A350 LF2) rather than cast. Forging produces a denser, more uniform grain structure with no internal porosity — resulting in higher strength and better pressure containment. These valves are used in high pressure (Class 800 to 2500) and high temperature (up to 540°C) services where cast steel valves would be at risk. The body size range is small bore — typically 1/2″ to 3″ (DN15 to DN80). Flanged connections are standard (ANSI B16.5) for easy installation, though socket weld and threaded ends are also available. The gate is a solid wedge, and both the seat rings and wedge faces are hardfaced with Stellite for resistance to wire drawing (erosion caused by high velocity steam/water mixtures).
Forged vs. Cast: Forged body passes hydrostatic tests to 1.5x Class 2500 rating — no risk of hidden porosity.
Material Traceability: Heat numbers stamped on body; EN 10204 3.1 certificate included.
High Cycle Life: Stellite hardfacing withstands 10,000+ cycles without seat damage.
NACE MR0175 Available: For sour service (H2S) in oil and gas.
100% NDE: Magnetic particle (MT) or liquid penetrant (PT) inspection on all forged parts.
