The Carbon Steel Flanged Globe Valve is designed for applications requiring throttling (regulating flow) as well as positive shut-off. Unlike a gate valve which is either fully open or fully closed, the globe valve can be partially open to precisely control flow rate. The internal geometry directs flow through a convoluted path — entering from below the seat, passing through the seat opening, and exiting — which gives the valve its excellent throttling control but also higher pressure drop compared to a gate valve. The disc (plug) moves perpendicular to the seat, creating a tight seal when fully closed. The body is carbon steel (ASTM A216 WCB) with integral flanges. For steam and high temperature services, WC6 (1.25% Cr-0.5% Mo) or WC9 (2.25% Cr-1% Mo) bodies are available.
API 602 / BS 1873 Compliant: Meets international standards for globe valves.
Stellite Faced Disc & Seat: Optional hardfacing for steam and erosive media.
Backseating: Allows repacking under full line pressure (no shutdown required).
Low Fugitive Emissions: Graphite packing standard for steam service.
Short Lead Time: 20-30 days for Class 150 and Class 300 sizes.
