The Carbon Steel Flanged Swing Check Valve is a unidirectional valve that allows flow in one direction and automatically closes when flow reverses. The disc is hinged at the top of the body. Forward flow pushes the disc open against gravity (or against a spring). When forward flow stops or reverses, gravity and backpressure return the disc to the closed position against the seat. Because the disc swings completely out of the flow path when fully open, this valve type offers the lowest pressure drop of any check valve — ideal for systems where energy efficiency is critical. The body is carbon steel (WCB) with integral flanges. For applications with water hammer concerns, a lever and weight or lever and dashpot can be added to control disc closing speed.
API 594 / BS 1868 Compliant: Meets international check valve standards.
Full Flow Area: No flow restriction when open — excellent for pump discharge lines.
Long Service Life: Hard faced seat and disc options for steam or abrasive media.
Field Adjustable: Lever and weight can be adjusted on-site to optimize performance.
Available with Spring: Spring-assisted swing disc for vertical downward flow.
