The Ductile Iron Socket Tee (push-on tee) is a three-port fitting designed for buried ductile iron pipe systems with push-on (Tyton) joints. All three ends are machined as sockets with pre-installed EPDM rubber gaskets. Installation is simple: lubricate the plain ends of the incoming pipes, push them into the sockets until they bottom out, and the joint is complete. No bolting, no welding, no torque wrenches. The tee is available in two configurations: equal tee (all three ports same diameter) and reducing tee (branch port smaller than the run). The fitting is cement mortar lined (to prevent internal corrosion and maintain water quality) and externally coated with zinc plus bitumen or polyethylene sleeving for buried corrosion protection. Each socket joint allows up to 5° of angular deflection, accommodating pipe alignment variations and ground settlement.
One-Piece Casting: No welded or bolted connections to fail — integral body.
Gaskets Pre-Installed: No field assembly of rubber seals — reduces installation errors.
Pull-Out Restraint Options: Mechanical locking rings available for thrust restraint.
Full Traceability: Heat number, size, and pressure rating cast on body.
100% Hydro Tested: Each tee tested before shipment.
