The Stainless Steel Equal Tee is a three-port butt weld fitting used to create a branch connection where the branch pipe is the same size as the main pipe. The fitting is manufactured from ASTM A403 stainless steel — WP304L or WP316L. Low carbon “L” grades are standard for welded systems to prevent intergranular corrosion (sensitization) in the heat-affected zone of the weld. The intersection where the branch meets the run is reinforced with extra wall thickness. The internal surface is smooth and continuous. For pharmaceutical and food applications, an electropolished internal finish (Ra ≤ 0.4μm) eliminates crevices where bacteria could grow. All three ends are beveled per ASME B16.25 for full penetration butt welds.
