The Stainless Steel Cross (4-way tee) is a four-port butt weld fitting used where a corrosive service pipeline needs to branch in two opposite directions from a single point. The fitting has four openings: two on the main run (straight through) and two perpendicular branches (opposite each other). Crosses create high stress concentrations at the branch intersections due to the multiple welds and geometry. For this reason, stainless steel crosses are typically limited to low to moderate pressure applications, and the higher strength SS316L is recommended over SS304L. The fitting is manufactured from ASTM A403 stainless steel. All intersections are reinforced with extra wall thickness. Ends are beveled per ASME B16.25. For sanitary applications, an electropolished internal finish is available.
SS316L Recommended: Higher corrosion resistance and strength for this high-stress fitting.
Reinforced All Branches: Extra thickness at all three intersections.
100% NDE Available: Radiography or dye penetrant testing on request.
Full Traceability: Heat number and grade stamped on body.
Custom Configurations: Reducing crosses available on request.
