The Stainless Steel Eccentric Reducer is a butt weld fitting that transitions between two different pipe sizes with an offset centerline. The offset allows orientation — Flat on Top (FOT) for horizontal liquid lines to prevent air pockets, or Flat on Bottom (FOB) for horizontal solids-carrying lines to prevent sediment accumulation. In corrosive and sanitary service, the eccentric reducer is especially important — air pockets in horizontal lines can cause pitting corrosion in stainless steel, while sediment pockets can lead to bacterial growth. The fitting is manufactured from ASTM A403 stainless steel, with low carbon “L” grades (304L or 316L) standard for better weldability and corrosion resistance after welding. The flat side is clearly marked “TOP” or “BOTTOM” to prevent installation errors.
Flat Top Marked: “TOP” laser etched on the flat side — prevents field installation errors.
Low Carbon Standard: 304L and 316L included at no extra charge.
Electropolish Available: For pharmaceutical and biotech applications requiring ultra-smooth surfaces.
Full Material Traceability: Heat number and grade on each fitting.
API 686 Compliant: Suitable for pump suction in refineries and chemical plants.
