The Stainless Steel Threaded Y-Strainer is installed upstream of pumps, flow meters, control valves, and nozzles to remove solid particles (scale, weld slag, debris, rust) from the fluid. The body is investment cast from CF8 (SS304) or CF8M (SS316) stainless steel — completely corrosion resistant and suitable for food, pharmaceutical, and chemical applications. The strainer has a Y-shaped body: the straight-through leg allows normal flow, while the angled leg houses a removable stainless steel mesh screen. To clean the strainer, the technician unscrews the bolted cover, pulls out the screen, rinses it, and reinstalls. The threaded ends (NPT or BSP) allow direct screwing onto male pipe nipples. For dirty applications, a blow-down port can be added to purge debris without interrupting flow.
304 or 316 Stainless Steel: Choose based on your media — 316 for seawater and chlorides.
Magnetic Insert Option: Captures ferrous particles (iron, steel) that pass through mesh.
Color Coded: Screen mesh size stamped on body for easy identification.
Hydrostatically Tested: Each strainer tested at 1.5x rated pressure.
Stocked Sizes: 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/2″, 2″ available for immediate shipment.
