The Carbon Steel 45° Elbow is a butt weld pipe fitting used to change the direction of flow by 45 degrees. Compared to a 90° elbow, the 45° elbow provides a more gradual turn, resulting in lower pressure drop and less erosion in high velocity systems. The fitting is manufactured from carbon steel to ASTM A234 WPB (standard) or WPC (higher temperature) specifications. Long radius elbows (1.5 times the nominal pipe diameter) are standard and recommended for most applications. Short radius elbows (1.0D) are available for space-constrained installations. The ends are beveled according to ASME B16.25 to facilitate field butt welding. The fitting can be supplied as seamless (for diameters up to 24″) or welded seam (for larger diameters). Each fitting is heat number stamped for full material traceability.
Material Certificates Included: EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates with every shipment.
100% Dimensional Inspection: Each fitting checked to ASME B16.9 tolerances.
Positive Material Identification (PMI) Available: X-ray fluorescence testing on request.
Heat Treatment: Normalized after forming to relieve stress.
Quick Lead Time: Standard sizes (1/2″ – 24″) in 15-20 days.
