The Carbon Steel 90° Elbow is the most commonly used butt weld fitting in pipe systems. It changes flow direction by 90 degrees and is available in long radius (1.5D) or short radius (1.0D) configurations. Long radius elbows are standard for most applications because they offer lower pressure drop, less erosion, and easier pigging. Short radius elbows are used only where space is extremely limited, such as at equipment nozzles or in compact skids. The fitting is manufactured from carbon steel to ASTM A234 WPB (WPC for high temperature). Ends are beveled per ASME B16.25. For large diameter pipelines (24″ and above), 3D or 5D bends may be specified to further reduce pressure drop and allow pipeline pigging. Each fitting is heat treated after forming to relieve residual stresses.
Full Range of Schedules: Sch10 through Sch160 and XXS — we match your pipe.
100% Radiography (RT) Available: For critical service applications.
Hardness Tested: Each fitting checked for proper heat treatment.
Alloy Options: Also available in chrome-moly (A234 WP11, WP22) for high temp.
Fast Turnaround: 3D/5D bends available in 4-6 weeks.
