The Rubber Expansion Joint (flanged type) is a flexible connector used in piping systems to absorb vibration, reduce noise, and compensate for minor pipe movement. The joint consists of a multi-arch rubber body (typically 2 to 5 arches) reinforced with multiple layers of nylon or polyester tire cord and a steel wire ring at each arch. The rubber body is vulcanized to integral loose flanges or fixed flanges on each end. When installed between two flanges, the joint can compress (axially), extend, bend (angular), or shift (laterally) to accommodate pipe misalignment or thermal movement. The joint also isolates vibration from pumps, compressors, and other rotating equipment — preventing that vibration from traveling down the pipe and radiating as noise. The rubber material is selected based on the fluid: EPDM for hot water and sewage; NBR for oil and fuel; Natural rubber for abrasion resistance (slurry). Control rods (tie rods) are available to limit axial movement and protect the joint from over-extension during pressure surges.
High Strength Reinforcement: Multiple layers of nylon tire cord — pressure rating up to 16 bar.
Vibration Reduction: Up to 80% vibration isolation compared to rigid pipe.
Corrosion Proof: Rubber body never rusts — ideal for saltwater and chemical service.
Easy Installation: Lightweight and flexible — no heavy lifting or precision alignment required.
Quick Lead Time: Standard sizes (DN50-DN600) from stock or 10-15 days.
