The Electromagnetic Flowmeter (magmeter) is a volumetric flow meter that measures the flow rate of electrically conductive liquids using Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction. The meter consists of a flow tube with a pair of electromagnetic coils and a pair of electrodes. When the coils generate a magnetic field across the flow tube, conductive liquid passing through the field generates a voltage proportional to flow velocity. The electrodes sense this voltage, and the transmitter converts it to a flow rate reading. Because there are no moving parts, magmeters are ideal for dirty, corrosive, or abrasive liquids that would damage mechanical meters. The meter is unaffected by changes in pressure, temperature, viscosity, or density — it measures volumetric flow directly. Available linings include PTFE (for aggressive chemicals) and hard rubber (for abrasive slurries). Electrode materials include SS316L, Hastelloy, titanium, and tantalum for various corrosion requirements. Outputs include 4-20mA analog, pulse (frequency), and RS485 Modbus.
Factory Calibrated: Each meter calibrated on a gravimetric flow rig — certificate included.
Zero Maintenance: No moving parts means no wear, no cleaning, no recalibration (under normal service).
Works with Dirty Fluids: Wastewater, sludge, pulp, slurry — magmeter handles it.
Bidirectional Standard: No need for separate reverse flow meter.
Quick Lead Time: DN15-DN600 available in 15-20 days.
